My work spans abstract photography, body impressions, and collage art, exploring the interplay of light, shadow, form, color, and texture. In my photography, I am drawn to abandoned spaces and overgrown landscapes, capturing the ways shadows interact with their surroundings to reveal unexpected perspectives. My body impression pieces focus on the female form, using body-safe acrylic paint to create direct imprints that celebrate presence, movement, and transformation. Through collage, I combine magazine imagery, acrylic paint, markers, and found materials to build abstract compositions that highlight the relationships between diverse colors, shapes, and textures.
I am fascinated by the ways the female form, light, and various artistic mediums interact with one another. Across all of my work, I embrace experimentation and discovery, allowing materials and processes to guide the final piece. I hope viewers find small details, connections, or moments within the work that resonate with their own experiences and imagination.

db Fagen

db Fagen is an East Tennessee artist working in acrylic and mixed media, creating contemporary works that offer a modern interpretation of classic Impressionism. Inspired by the fleeting imagery that emerges in the moments before sleep, his work explores the space between memory, emotion, and imagination.

Working primarily in miniature scale, Fagen embraces both the challenge and intimacy of small-format creation, while quietly questioning the notion that larger works inherently carry greater importance. Though informed by limited formal training, his artistic practice is largely self-taught and shaped through experimentation, instinct, and repetition.

Rooted in the grounding presence of East Tennessee, Fagen’s work invites viewers into spaces that feel at once familiar and elusive — places that are beautiful, unsettling, comforting, and deeply personal.
